Stewardship
A word about our stewardship...
Congratulations! Unless you simply hit the wrong keys, you’ve intentionally come to the page on our website concerned with how to support Lakewood United Methodist Church in the coming year, and here you will find a few important items which we hope you will take the time to carefully consider. First, there is a commitment card for the 2008 operating budget on which you may record your projected giving to the church’s ongoing ministries. Our theme for this year’s campaign was simply “A Promise Made⦠and Kept” as we considered what our vows to support the church with our prayers, presence, gifts and service really mean. Thanks to the generosity of many, 2007 was an outstanding in the support of our current programs of worship, education, missions, and outreach, and we believe that this year can be even better as we strive to do more for Christ and for others. In that regard, however, in order to be good managers of those ministries, having an estimate of your giving enables us to plan a budget that is both realistic and bold. We also recognize that giving to the Lord is ultimately between you and Him.
Along with the pledge card, there is also a listing of our ministry teams for 2008 and a card to indicate your team preference. It is our hope that every member will find at least one or two areas in which they would like to share in the leadership of our church this year. Look over the list, check your choices, and we will do our very best to be good managers of that aspect of your stewardship, as well. You may return these pledge cards at any time. Questions? Please feel free to contact any of the staff, including our Director of Finance, Chuck Kilmer , who can tell you more. Thanks again for your faithfulness.
